Round 7 at Brands Hatch GP
I had a good run out on my pit bike at Whilton Mill Tuesday night and felt that my shoulder, injured 5 weeks ago at Round 5 at Snetterton, was strong enough to attend Round 7 at Brands Hatch GP circuit.
Free Practice 1 was ok and I felt comfortable finishing a steady 18th identifying some changes to make for FP2.
Just as it was time for Free Practice 2 it started to spot with rain which had turned to full rain by the time we got out on the circuit. There was no point in risking a crash as the weather was going to be dry and sunny for Qualifying on Saturday.
The changes we made to the bike worked and I was getting faster in my 2nd part of Qualifying before getting stuck behind some slower riders and with only a couple of minutes left I came in to the pits in 13th position which is where I finally finished.
The pain in my shoulder after completing 10 laps running at what would be close to race pace was unbearable so I made the decision that it would not be safe for me and my fellow competitors to attempt 14 laps in the race so I reluctantly withdrew from Sundays race.
A big thank you to my sponsors and team who managed to rebuild the bike after Snetterton and who supported me in the decision to withdraw.
